According to the Office of the National Assembly, within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the afternoon of November 21, at the headquarters of the Cambodian National Assembly in the capital Phnom Penh, on behalf of the State of Cambodia, National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the State of Cambodia to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
Speaking at the ceremony, First Vice President of the Cambodian National Assembly Cheam Yeap said that Cambodia and Vietnam have built a good and special friendship. This is a factor that creates effective cooperation, bringing practical benefits and great results to the two peoples.
In that spirit, the two countries continue to maintain and sustain the relationship to build a bright future for the next generations of the two peoples. The Cambodian King's awarding of the Grand Cross of Merit to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is a testament to the noble friendship between the two countries.
Speaking at the award ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this honor is not only personal but also a recognition of the contributions of the National Assembly and generations of Vietnamese leaders who have worked hard to foster and strengthen the relationship of "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia" for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries close geographically and have many similarities in culture and history. The two Parties share the same origin as the Indochinese Communist Party, and have stood shoulder to shoulder against the common enemy to liberate the nation, unify the country, as well as in the cause of national construction, defense and development.
Through many historical ups and downs and the events of the times, in the most difficult periods, the two Parties and two countries have always stood shoulder to shoulder, side by side. History has proven that solidarity, cooperation and mutual assistance are objective inevitability, the law of survival, and the most important factor for the security and development of each country.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the Party, State, National Assembly, Government and people of Vietnam attach great importance to the relationship with Cambodia. Over the years, the National Assembly and people of Vietnam have always shared and accompanied the National Assembly and people of Cambodia. The National Assembly Chairman was pleased with the development of good relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries. The relationship between the two countries' parliaments has become increasingly in-depth and effective, making positive and substantial contributions by the two parliaments to consolidating and strengthening the close and steadfast solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed the consistent solidarity and strong support of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for Cambodia's development, and hoped that Cambodia would continue to gain many new, greater and more comprehensive achievements in national development. Vietnam always considers Cambodia's achievements as a great source of encouragement for Vietnam and also Vietnam's own achievements.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that he will continue to make efforts to contribute to continuing and strengthening the friendship and special solidarity between the Party, State, National Assembly and people of the two countries.
