On the afternoon of October 24, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa attended the Vietnam - South Africa Business Forum.
The forum was also attended by ministers, leaders of ministries, branches, agencies under the Government and 200 business delegates from the two countries.
According to VNA, speaking at the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that during the meeting with the South African President, the two sides proposed directions, programs and cooperation goals; identified people and businesses as the main subjects to realize the cooperation directions, programs and goals between the two countries.
With the viewpoint of "The State creates, businesses pioneer, public-private partners accompany", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the two governments must promote institutional improvement, promote the signing of free trade agreements, investment protection, have visa policies, open labor contracts, build a smooth infrastructure system... Meanwhile, businesses of both sides must pioneer in promoting economic and investment cooperation, through specific projects.
On the basis of the relationship between the two countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested and hoped that businesses of the two countries would fulfill the historical mission of connecting businesses, connecting the two economies, connecting the two cultures to turn cooperation potential into specific projects.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his pleasure at visiting Vietnam to discuss with Vietnamese leaders to promote cooperation in all fields, including economy, trade, and investment; strengthen the relationship between the two countries, aiming to elevate the bilateral relationship to new heights.
Expressing his admiration and congratulations on Vietnam's development achievements, the President said that the two sides still have great potential that has not been exploited. Therefore, the two sides, specifically businesses of the two countries, need to promote cooperation, technology transfer, and jointly build supply chains in areas where each side has strengths, expand to new areas such as clean energy conversion, education, training, science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, etc. In particular, the two countries are both beautiful countries with unique cultures, thereby having the potential to promote tourism and cultural exchange, etc.
President Cyril Ramaphosa said South Africa is committed to reducing trade barriers and perfecting a legal framework to protect investment for businesses.
