Prime Minister requests rice supply to people in flooded areas in the Central region on November 14

The Prime Minister requested to mobilize all means of supply for households facing hunger; ensure that rice supply must be implemented immediately on November 14.

After inspecting the actual damage situation and disaster recovery work in Gia Lai province, on the afternoon of November 13, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference with ministries, branches, and central agencies; online with localities on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, stabilizing people's lives and restoring production and business in the Central region.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the spirit of determination and determination in directing the work of preventing and combating natural disasters, floods, and minimizing damage.

The Prime Minister requested local Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and core forces such as the army, police, and health workers to continue to encourage families of deceased and missing people, support according to local customs; search for missing people, treat the injured; stabilize the people's situation with the spirit of not letting anyone lack shelter, hunger, cold, schools, or medical examination and treatment.

The Ministry of Finance urgently reviews and balances the reserve budget for 2025, based on proposals, no later than 12:00 on November 14, to submit to the Government a support plan to arrange accommodation for people.

Note that on this occasion, relevant parties need to restructure people's housing to avoid dangerous areas and not live close to the sea, the Prime Minister requested that together with the Central Government and localities, they also mobilize resources to support people in rebuilding and repairing 1,900 collapsed houses and 67,000 houses with unroofed roofs.

The Prime Minister requested localities to quickly restore electricity infrastructure, clean water, transportation, and telecommunications; continue to review and mobilize all means of supply for households facing hunger, evacuate people to safe places; ensure that rice supply must be implemented immediately on November 14.

Localities continue to call on businesses and philanthropists to promote "national love and compatriotism" with the spirit of "whoever has something to help, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has meritorious services helps a public, whoever has property helps".

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to quickly take action to support and clean up production facilities and houses that have collapsed and damaged.

Enterprises quickly stabilize production and business, do not let supply chains break down, or make mistakes in contracts with foreign customers.

The Ministry of Education and Training collects statistics and immediately resolves problems related to schools. The Ministry of Health grasps the situation, together with localities, to overcome the consequences.

The Prime Minister emphasized that everyone must get involved in the spirit of "wherever they retreat, restore it", quickly restoring livelihoods for the people.

Relevant agencies, banks, credit institutions, and insurance agencies will promptly implement measures to support people and businesses to restore production and business.

Note, continue to review and compile complete statistics on damage caused by natural disasters in localities, the Prime Minister requested Ministers, heads of sectors, Secretaries, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities to actively and proactively resolve work according to their authority to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods.
