On the morning of March 19, in Shenzhen, China, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the working delegation visited and worked with the Mekong Delta Research Center of Shenzhen University, the Shenzhen Bay Eco-Technology Science Park, and the Shenzhen Innovation and Investment Group, according to the Government Newspaper.
The China External Relations Research Center (CCSEZR), formerly the Economic Research Center of Shenzhen University, was established in 1983, and is the only academic research institute in China specializing in research on subjects of EIA (SEZ).
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the achievements and great contributions of Shenzhen University in general and CCSEZR in particular, especially its role in researching theory, practice and proposing mechanisms and policies on building, managing and developing Economic Zone/Technology models, free trade zones of China and the world.
"These are very valuable experiences for Vietnam and many other countries in the world" - the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.
Professor Dao Nhat Dao - Chairman of CCSEZR - reported to the Deputy Prime Minister on research, formation, development, vision and achievements of the TTKT - technology model in Shenzhen.
Also at the meeting, the two sides discussed the experience of building administrative units, in which they clearly understood the role of the Government and local authorities in developing mechanisms and policies to attract investors, large technology companies to and placing research and development (R&D) facilities, super clusters for strategic industries in the economic zone.
In addition, CCSEZR also shared experiences in promoting cooperation between research institutes, universities and enterprises; determining intellectual property rights for products from research with state funding; commercializing and sharing the benefits of research results when enterprises participate; building, attracting and developing quality human resources in economic/technical zones and free trade zones.
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes to continue promoting cooperation between the center and ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam in supporting Vietnam's policy-making agencies, especially the Ministry of Finance (Department of Private Enterprise Development and Collective Economy).
"We want to promote cooperation in researching and proposing breakthrough mechanisms and policies to build and develop economic zones, high-tech zones, and innovation centers in Vietnam to attract investors, large technology companies, and innovative startups" - the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that CCSEZR cooperate and support Vietnam in training, exchanging research staff, and policy making for economic zones and innovation centers.
On March 19, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also visited and worked with the Shenzhen Bay Eco-Tech Park to learn about the high-tech park model, policies to attract technology enterprises, policies to support R&D in private enterprises, and business- Research Institute cooperation.
Immediately afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation visited and had a meeting and discussion with the Shenzhen Innovation and Investment Group regarding the motivation for businesses to innovate, manage, invest, and effectively operate the innovation fund.
"The Vietnamese government encourages Chinese enterprises in general and the Shenzhen Innovation and Investment Group in particular to cooperate, invest and do business effectively in Vietnam, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to increasingly successfully build an innovation ecosystem" - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
