On the morning of July 16, Mr. Mai Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, had a meeting and worked with Mr. Farid Alakbarov - Vice Chairman of Sumgayit city, Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Bac Ninh province, the Standing Vice Chairman of Mai Son Provincial People's Committee said that Bac Ninh province has a natural area of 4,718.6 km2; 99 commune-level administrative units with a population of 3,619,433 people.
Bac Ninh province plays a key role, the core for socio-economic development of Northeast Vietnam.
Recently, the Prime Minister has just approved the province to implement the Gia Binh International Airport project - one of the 5 largest airports in Vietnam; with an international scale of 5-star standards, striving to be in the top 10 most beautiful and modern airports in the world. Promising to be an important project to promote economic development and enhance national defense and security in the region.
Mr. Mai Son added that along with economic potential, the province has a unique culture, many historical relics, folk festivals, traditional craft villages, many types of cultural heritages have been honored at the national and international levels.
With an important position and role in socio-economic development, in recent years, the province has had remarkable development steps, always being among the most developed provinces in the country.
GRDP in the first 6 months of the year alone is estimated to increase by 10.47%, making it one of the leading localities in the country in terms of economic growth rate.
To continue socio-economic development, the province identifies foreign affairs and investment attraction as playing an important role. Therefore, Mr. Mai Son hopes that the two sides will continue to exchange and connect businesses in the fields of chemicals, clean industry, and renewable energy; promote the exchange program of education and training for high-quality technical workers; introduce the cultural beauty of the two sides...
At the same time, he hopes that through this visit, Mr. Farid Alakbarov will understand more about Bac Ninh province, thereby contributing to promoting the relationship between Bac Ninh province and Sumgayit city to achieve new developments.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Farid Alakbarov - Vice Chairman of Sumgayit City - said that Sumgayit City has a population of 427,800 people and an area of 133 km2; this is a young city with an important position in the economic development of Azerbaijan.
Since its establishment, Sumgayit city has strongly developed the industrial sector, especially the chemical industry, making the city a strategic industrial center.
Currently, Sumgayit city has affirmed its position as a leading industrial center of Azerbaijan in the fields of chemicals, petrochemicals, metal smelting, electricity, food and light industry, construction materials, etc. Sumgayit city is also a model city with a unique and vibrant culture.
Through the meeting, Mr. Farid Alakbarov hoped that the two sides would continue to exchange and connect to establish a friendly relationship between Bac Ninh province and Sumgayit city, as a basis for implementing practical and sustainable foreign affairs activities in the coming time.
