On July 23, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and the Central Working Group visited and presented gifts to war invalids at Duy Tien War Invalids Nursing Center, Ninh Binh province on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025).
Currently, the Center is nurturing, treating, rehabilitating and resolving policies for 52 wounded, sick soldiers and a martyr's relative from 9 provinces and cities across the country. The wounded and sick soldiers at the Center are all over 70 years old, the highest of which is 93 years old.
Here, the President stated that "When drinking water, remember its source" and "When eating fruit, remember the growers" are the fine morality and good traditions of our nation.
The President affirmed that the generations of Vietnamese people today and tomorrow will always remember and understand the value of a peaceful life today, which is Fog - Mountain, Blood - River, sweat, tears, intelligence and contributions of all generations of Vietnamese people.
Therefore, we must respect, preserve and do our best to build a rich, prosperous and lasting Vietnam.
Over the past 78 years, especially after nearly 40 years of renovation, the Party and State have issued many preferential policies and regimes for people with revolutionary contributions and those policies have been constantly improved.
To continue to better care for the lives of people with revolutionary contributions, the President suggested that ministries, branches and localities in general, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ninh Binh province in particular, need to seriously implement the Party's resolutions and directives on people with revolutionary contributions.
In particular, it is necessary to identify the implementation of preferential policies for meritorious people as a regular and long-term task of the entire political system and the whole society.
The President requested to continue a comprehensive review of policies related to people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' families; at the same time, propose solutions to remove obstacles in accordance with the situation and reality of the country.
The Ministry of Home Affairs closely coordinates with ministries, branches and localities to effectively implement Decision No. 1577/QD-TTg on the plan to implement the Planning of the social facility system to nurture and nurture people with meritorious services to the revolution to form a grassroots system with sufficient capacity to better meet the requirements of nurturing and nursing people with meritorious services.
Continue to promote the movements 'Fate in gratitude' ' ' ' 'When drinking water, remember its source ' ' ' ' ' ' 'All people take care of war invalids, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services to the revolution' ' ' ' thereby mobilizing more social resources, joining hands with the Party and State to better care for the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services.
The President affirmed that our Party, State and people will forever remember the merits of heroes, martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers and those who have contributed to the revolution.
In the coming time, the Party and State will continue to improve policies and laws on preferential treatment for meritorious people, mobilizing all social resources to make this work increasingly better and more thoughtful.
