The accident occurred at the Van Chuong - Kham Thien - Cong Trang intersection (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward, Hanoi). According to initial information, a blue Ford Raptor pickup truck suddenly lost control, crashed onto the sidewalk, fell onto about 6-7 motorbikes parked, causing many people on the road to panic.
Immediately after the incident, the police of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward and the Traffic Police quickly arrived at the scene to regulate traffic, make a record and handle the incident. Due to the peak hours, the accident caused local traffic congestion in the area.
The accident attracted the attention of many people, making the traffic jam even more serious.
Sharing with Lao Dong newspaper reporters, Mr. Tung Nguyen - who directly participated in rescuing people trapped under the car, said that when he had just moved out of Van Chuong alley, he suddenly saw a pickup truck (going towards Le Duan) rushing up, crashing into many motorbikes going in the same direction and then stopping.
"As soon as I saw it, I ran out and shouted that everyone together lifted the car to save a person trapped underground. Fortunately, there were many people supporting. The traffic police and militia also quickly arrived to lift the vehicle," Mr. Tung Nguyen shared.
According to Mr. Tung Nguyen, a man was taken out of the car, had scratches on his head, legs and arms, and was still alert and able to talk. This person was then taken to the hospital.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the leader of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward Police confirmed the incident and said that the authorities are supporting the victims, regulating traffic and investigating the cause of the accident.
