The General Secretary shared with Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane the successful results of the talks with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
The two sides agreed to raise the Vietnam - Laos relationship to the level of "Grand Friendship, Special Unity, Comprehensive Cooperation, Strategic Cohesion", demonstrating a common vision, intertwined strategic benefits and a long-term companionship orientation for sustainable development, self-reliance and prosperity of the two peoples.
General Secretary To Lam and the Chairman of the Lao National Assembly expressed their delight at witnessing the extremely close and effective cooperation between the two National Assemblies.
Saysomphone Chairman Phomvihane affirmed that he will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese National Assembly to effectively implement the supervision of High-level Agreements and Cooperation Agreements, especially important economic projects, to contribute to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam proposed a number of measures to strengthen relations between the two National Assemblies, including continuing to exchange and share experiences in areas of mutual interest, especially in building and perfecting institutions, legal systems, supreme supervision and deciding on important issues of the country.
The two National Assemblies also need to promote the improvement of institutions and policies to facilitate the effective implementation of the High-level Agreements of the two countries' Politburoes and the Cooperation Agreement between the two Governments.
The National Assemblies of the two countries need to closely coordinate, jointly supervise the implementation of bilateral agreements; strengthen supervision and promote investment cooperation projects between the two countries, propose to remove difficulties and obstacles in terms of institutions/ mechanisms, and create a favorable legal corridor for businesses and localities of the two countries to cooperate sustainably and mutually beneficially.
The two sides will continue to closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international parliamentary forums; strengthen consultation and coordination of positions on international and regional issues, in accordance with the interests and interests of each country, in common with the positions of ASEAN and the parties, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for development.
The legislative bodies of the two countries need to further promote their roles to spread the strengths of cooperation between the two countries in politics, defense and security to the economic and other fields.
General Secretary To Lam thanked National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane for his concern and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Laos to live, study, work and do business; at the same time, he proposed that Laos be more favorable for Vietnamese people and businesses to cooperate and invest in Laos, contributing to the socio-economic development of Laos and the relationship between the two countries.
Immediately after the meeting, General Secretary To Lam and President of the Lao National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane attended the button pressing ceremony to launch the electronic book "50 years of relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Lao National Assembly, comprehensive cooperation and development" at the Lao National Assembly Headquarters.
