In the joyful and excited atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring and welcoming the Binh Ngo New Year 2026, on the evening of February 16 (ie December 29 of the year At Ty), before the sacred New Year's Eve moment of transition between the old year and the new year, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and offered incense at the Statue of King Ly Thai To; visited and wished Tet to the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi Capital (at the Hanoi City Party Committee Headquarters).
Accompanying the General Secretary were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Pham Gia Tuc; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; representatives of the Party Central Committee Office, General Secretary Office, and leaders of Hanoi city.
Expressing his pleasure to visit and wish Tet to the Party Committee, government, and people of Hanoi City, the heroic Capital, the heart of the whole country, General Secretary To Lam shared a very clear feeling of the breath of a rising Capital, a Hanoi that is not only brilliant with flags and flowers but also sparkling with faith and hope, igniting the spirit of solidarity and innovation in every street corner, every smile of the people.
Recognizing that the Capital Hanoi has achieved comprehensive and impressive development results, making important contributions to the common achievements of the country, the General Secretary emphasized that Hanoi has dared to look straight at the truth, with high political determination, boldly innovate thinking, think big, do big when proposing a 100-year vision plan; welcomed the spirit of urgency, drasticity, and determination of Hanoi in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the 18th City Party Committee Resolution, and the resolutions of the Politburo issued in 2025, especially Hanoi has organized to thoroughly grasp and implement the Action Program of the City Party Committee immediately after the National Conference to implement the 14th Party Congress.
Faced with the very high tasks and requirements of the new stage, the General Secretary requested that with the position of the Capital, the national political - administrative center - Hanoi Capital must be truly a pioneer in innovation and creativity. Every task Hanoi does, every model Hanoi deploys is leading and spreading motivation for the whole region and the whole country.
The General Secretary requested Hanoi to be determined to achieve the goal of becoming a national development construction center, a strong economic growth pole. Hanoi needs to continue to improve outstanding institutions, promote science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; definitively solve bottlenecks; build a new growth model based on scientific and technological knowledge, innovation, digital transformation and high-quality human resources.
The General Secretary believes that the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital will continue to overcome all challenges and achieve resounding victories right from the first year of the new term.
A bright example of self-study and dedication
In the moment of transition between the old year and the new year, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and wished Tet to the family of Professor, Doctor of Science, People's Teacher Nguyen Lan Dung and Assoc. Prof. Dr., People's Physician Nguyen Kim Nu Hieu, former Deputy Director of Central Military Hospital 108, who was recently honored as an Outstanding Citizen of the Capital in 2025, living in Hai Ba Trung ward, Hanoi.
Kindly inquiring about the health and life of Professors and Associate Professors and their families, General Secretary To Lam expressed respect and acknowledged the dedicated and persistent contributions of Professors and Associate Professors who have dedicated their whole lives to contributing to the cause of education, health and science in the country.
Giving gifts and sending best New Year wishes to the family for a new year of peace, prosperity and happiness, the General Secretary wished the Professor and Associate Professor to continue to be bright examples of self-study and dedication, cultivate the tradition of studious families, continue to have scientific research, and write more new books to pass on to young intellectual generations.
