This morning (May 18), the Politburo and the Secretariat held a national conference to disseminate and implement Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW, dated April 30, 2025 of the Politburo on innovating the work of law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development.
Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that we are witnessing unprecedented profound changes on the global scale in geopolitics, geoeconomics, strategic competition, strong shifting of economic centers, explosion of science and technology, along with challenges in climate change, energy security, traditional and non-traditional security.
These movements create both challenges and opportunities for all countries. Whoever seizes the opportunity and overcomes the challenge will succeed. Otherwise, the result will be the opposite and the situation will be "buffaloes are slow to drink broth" - General Secretary To Lam noted.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that after nearly 40 years of steadfast implementation of the Doi Moi process, our country has achieved great achievements, which can be said to be great achievements: continuous economic growth, people's lives are improved, international position is constantly consolidated.
We have the right to be proud, but we must also frankly admit that there are many harsh challenges ahead, requiring us not to be subjective, not to sleep on the laurel wreath, not to be late, but to constantly innovate, reform, promote all resources and motivation in society, among the people, implement deeply, comprehensively, resolutely, and determined to achieve the great goals set.
The innovations and reforms that we are implementing are not only an objective requirement of development but also an order from the future of the nation.

According to General Secretary To Lam, the innovations and reforms focus on four breakthroughs: Resolution 57 of the Politburo on promoting science, technology and innovation; Resolution 59 on proactive extensive international integration; Resolution 66 on comprehensive innovation in law-making and enforcement; Resolution 68 on strong development of the private economic sector.
"Up to now, we can call the above 4 resolutions as" the four pillars "to help us take off. Therefore, I call the whole political system, the whole Party, the entire people and the whole army to join hands, unanimously, overcome all difficulties, turn the aspiration into action, turn the potential into real power, to bring our country to the new era - the Vietnamese people 's satality."
According to the General Secretary, looking towards the future, we clearly identify that, in order to develop quickly and sustainably, Vietnam cannot follow the old ways. We must dare to think big, act big, carry out major reforms with the highest political determination and the most persistent efforts.
"The important Resolutions issued by the Politburo in the recent past will be the foundational institutional pillars, creating a strong driving force to move our country forward in the new era, realizing the vision of Vietnam's development and high income by 2045" - the General Secretary emphasized.
