Within the framework of the state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on February 6, General Secretary To Lam laid a wreath at the Independence Monument, the Monument to the late King Norodom Sihanouk and the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Monument in Phnom Penh capital.
Also attending were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation.
Independence Monument is an architectural work commemorating Cambodia's independence day, commemorating, commemorating and honoring Cambodian people who have contributed and sacrificed for the Fatherland. This is also a place where national grand ceremonies of Cambodia often take place.
The memorial to the late King Norodom Sihanouk is built to commemorate the late King Norodom Sihanouk (1922-2012), who ruled Cambodia in many periods, went through the 1970 coup and Pol Pot genocide, until Cambodia was peaceful, then abdicated to cede the throne to King Norodom Sihamoni. The late King Norodom Sihanouk is a great friend of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
The Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Monument, a symbolic architectural work of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, was built to show gratitude to Vietnamese soldiers who performed noble international duties, helping the Cambodian people escape the disaster of genocide.
The State visit to Cambodia by General Secretary To Lam and the high-level delegation this time is of great significance. The senior leaders of the two countries strengthened exchanges, consolidated the foundation of political trust, and promoted the effective implementation of the agreements reached.
The visit also aims to further deepen the traditional friendly relations between the two Parties and two countries, thereby creating momentum to bring Vietnam - Cambodia relations to a new height, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the two countries and actively contributing to maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing environment in the region.
