The meeting was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

Attending the meeting were: former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Politburo member, President Luong Cuong; Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Politburo member, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; former Politburo members, former National Assembly Chairmen: Nguyen Sinh Hung, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and Politburo members, former Politburo members, Party Central Committee members, leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and nearly 2,000 National Assembly delegates from different periods.
On the National Assembly side, there were also members of the Party Central Committee: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh with the Standing Committee of the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees.

The meeting is an event of profound significance, an important milestone for the Vietnamese National Assembly, demonstrating the recognition and appreciation of the leaders of the Party, State and General Secretary To Lam for the great and continuous contributions of generations of National Assembly deputies to the development of the country, building and defending the Fatherland.
The meeting is also an opportunity to express gratitude to generations of National Assembly deputies, review glorious traditions, share valuable experiences, spread the aspiration for innovation, join hands to build an increasingly democratic, professional, modern National Assembly - for a rich, strong, and steadfast Vietnam entering a new era of the nation.
