General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, successfully concluded their official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria.

On the morning of October 25, the private plane carrying General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria from October 22-24 at the invitation of President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

According to VNA, sending off General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Sofia international airport, capital Sofia (Bulgaria), on the Bulgarian side were: Mr. Atanas Zafirov - Chairman of the Socialist Party, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Roussi Ivanov - Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Presidential Palace; Mr. Mircho Ivanov - Director of the Protocol Department, Presidential Palace.

On the Vietnamese side, there were: Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Bulgaria; many officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria and the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria.

During the visit, General Secretary To Lam held talks with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria; met with the press; met with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly; received the President of the Socialist Party of Bulgaria; attended the Bulgaria - Vietnam Business Forum; witnessed the handover ceremony of cooperation documents between the two countries; visited the University of Sofia; visited the National Museum of Bulgarian History...

Based on the outstanding achievements of bilateral relations in all fields over the past 75 years, with the potential for open cooperation and firm belief in the good future of bilateral relations, in order to meet the aspirations of the people of the two countries, General Secretary To Lam and President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev unanimously approved the Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam - Bulgaria relations to "Strategic Partnership".

Within the framework of the Strategic Partnership, Vietnam and Bulgaria will continue to deepen cooperation in various fields to ensure the practical interests of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in both the region and the world.

The official visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to the Republic of Bulgaria is of great significance, an opportunity for the two countries' senior leaders to look back on the achievements in developing relations, thereby having strategic orientations, bringing the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria to new heights.
