Recently, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Directive No. 03/CT-TTg dated February 4, 2025, urging the implementation of key tasks after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Notably, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue urging and guiding localities to remove difficulties and obstacles in implementing real estate and social housing projects, promoting the safe, healthy and sustainable development of the real estate market.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to coordinate with the State Bank of Vietnam to effectively implement the VND145,000 billion credit package for social housing.
The Head of Government requested the Ministry of Construction to coordinate with the Government Office to organize a National Conference on promoting social housing and the safe and healthy development of the real estate market before February 15, 2025.
In addition, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with agencies and localities to strengthen inspection and examination of land price determination activities, issuance of land price lists, compensation, site clearance, and auction of land use rights.
At the same time, promptly rectify, prevent and strictly handle violations within authority, especially acts of taking advantage of land use rights auctions for personal gain and disrupting the market.
The Ministry is assigned to soon complete and put into operation the land information system and centralized, unified, multi-purpose land database, providing online public services in the land sector in urban areas, improving indicators, including: "Land access", "Land registration" and "Land administrative management quality".
Previously, the Ministry of Construction sent Document No. 02 to the Prime Minister proposing to organize a conference to promote the healthy and sustainable development of social housing and the real estate market.
The conference on promoting social housing and the healthy and sustainable development of the real estate market is expected to have the direct participation of 200 delegates including experts and representatives of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association, etc.
At the same time, this conference also had the participation of leaders of many large real estate enterprises across the country such as Vingroup, Sungroup, Novaland, Him Lam, Hung Thinh Land, Viglacera, Becamex IDC Binh Duong, Ecopark, HUD, CEO Group, Capital House, Capitaland...
As planned, the conference to promote social housing and the healthy and sustainable development of the real estate market will be held directly at the Government Office and online to the People's Committees of 63 provinces and cities across the country.
According to a report from the Ministry of Construction, in 2024, our country will have only 108 completed social housing projects, equivalent to 47,532 apartments. By 2025, it is expected that the whole country will have 135 projects implemented, with nearly 101,900 social housing units, an increase of 2.1 times compared to the previous year.
Therefore, to complete the target of 1 million social housing units by 2030 in Vietnam, each year, the market must provide from 130,000 - 150,000 social housing apartments.
