VNA reported that on July 7 (local time), on the occasion of attending the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

The two sides agreed to continue to concretize and effectively implement the high-level common perceptions reached during the visit; promote the Vietnam - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership towards a "6 more" orientation, maintain regular high-level exchanges; strongly promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; expand cooperation in science, technology and innovation.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that China give high priority to promoting railway cooperation, starting the construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in December 2025.
