On May 15, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Director of Nghe An Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism Tran Thi My Hanh said that one of the highlights of the Lang Sen Festival 2025 is the inauguration ceremony of the monument "Uncle Ho returns to visit his hometown".
The monument "Uncle Ho returns to visit his hometown" is a gratitude gift from the Ministry of Public Security to the people of Nghe An province on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1990 - May 19, 2025), placed at Kim Lien commune stadium.
The statue is made entirely of bronze, weighing 6 tons, 8.3m high (the total height of the statue is 12.5m), crafted using modern hydraulic pressing technology, simulating the image of Uncle Ho in a friendly and simple way during his second visit to his hometown (in 1961).
According to the Director of the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, placing the statue in Sen Village is not only to recreate a historical image, but also a sacred symbol expressing the nation's "remember the source of water when drinking" morality, as well as the deep affection of the People's Public Security force and people nationwide for Uncle Ho.
The monument was inaugurated within the framework of the Sen Village Festival - a national event organized by Nghe An province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Public Security from May 10 to 19, 2025.
The official opening ceremony took place at 8:00 p.m. on May 15 at Kim Lien Commune Stadium with the theme " Monument in Every Minute of the Heart". The opening night will have a low-altitude fireworks display lasting 15 minutes.
This year's festival includes many rich activities such as the "Lang Sen Singing Festival", the ASEAN country - people photo exhibition, the film week and the exchange of film crews about Uncle Ho, and the 20th National Ethnic People's Artist Championship.
The Sen Village Festival is an opportunity for people across the country and international friends to express their respect and infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - an outstanding cultural figure of humanity. At the same time, it is an opportunity to educate the tradition of patriotism, spreading Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to today's and future generations.
