On May 6, information from the Propaganda and Training Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) said that, at the invitation of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, a high-level delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense to attend the Defense and Aerospace Exhibition (SAHA) 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Attending the activities of the delegation at the Exhibition was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Turkey Dang Thi Thu Ha.
Held every 2 years since 2018, SAHA is one of the largest international exhibitions in the fields of defense, aerospace and space technology.
This year's exhibition gathers more than 1,700 businesses from 120 countries, including large defense corporations, government and military organizations (Ministry of National Defense, security agencies of countries), research and development centers.
SAHA 2026 introduces over 300 new defense technology products and solutions and direct demonstrations in many fields.
The participation in the SAHA Exhibition continues to affirm Vietnam's consistent policy in strengthening international integration in defense, promoting defense industry cooperation in the direction of self-reliance, self-strengthening, self-reliance, modernization, and dual-use, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army (VPA), meeting the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Through participating in this Exhibition, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense introduced Vietnam's defense industry and exchanged, learned, and shared experiences in organizing and preparing for the third Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in December 2026.
At the Exhibition, the Vietnamese delegation visited booths of leading defense industry corporations in the world, learned about new achievements in the field of defense technology, aerospace industry, modern weapons and equipment systems and dual-use technology solutions, and promoted cooperation in research, development, and technology transfer.
In particular, at this exhibition, Viettel High Tech Corporation (Viettel High Tech), Viettel Military Industry - Telecommunications Group participated in displaying and introducing 73 high-tech products in 8 key fields, including: radar, electronic warfare, UAV, optoelectronics, military information, command - control systems, simulation models and 5G private networks.
This list reflects the direction of developing a comprehensive defense technology ecosystem, while demonstrating the ability to master core technologies.
The presence in Turkey is of strategic significance as this is a market with high defense industry standards and a rapidly developing ecosystem. The fact that products in fields such as radar, telecommunications or electronic warfare meet technical requirements here is an important basis to affirm the international quality of Vietnamese technology.
