In the afternoon of January 14, 2026, at My Dinh National Convention Center, the Press Center of the 14th Congress officially opened. This is one of the opening events in a series of main activities at the 14th Congress of the Party. Immediately after that, the International Press Conference of the 14th Congress of the Party was chaired by Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
At the press conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Tam exchanged with the press about the personnel requirements of the 14th Central Executive Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam emphasized some contents:
One is to ensure the direct, comprehensive, regular, continuous, and tight leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the General Secretary.
The 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party must be a clean and strong collective, truly united and unified in will and action, steadfast in the goal of nationalist and socialist independence and the Party's renovation guidelines, closely attached to the people; harmoniously and reasonably handle between standards and structure, between inheritance, stability and innovation, development; between popularity and specificity; between professional training and practical strengths; between prestige, work experience and development direction, in which especially emphasize product quality, work efficiency, and dedication to be a measure of evaluating, arranging and using cadres.
Second, members of the 14th Central Executive Committee of the Party are typical people in terms of pioneering, exemplary, constructive, combative and action-oriented nature, discipline and humanity. This is also a team that needs to have qualities, capacity, prestige, integrity, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for national and ethnic interests above all, first of all, close to the people, respecting the people, for the people; dare to sacrifice themselves for the noble cause of the Party. This is also a person with innovative thinking, strategic vision, capable of gathering, uniting, unifying and mobilizing comprehensive strength.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, the new term of Central Committee members must also meet the requirements of high intensity, continuous, and long-term work; be ready to receive and successfully complete all tasks of concern.
Third, Mr. Tam emphasized the requirement to resolutely not let those who do not meet the standards and conditions, those who are not worthy of joining the Party Central Committee, and not to miss out on those who are truly virtuous, talented, and reputable.
Do not let those who have one of the shortcomings such as: unstable political bravery, not steadfast in the Party's guidelines and viewpoints; declining moral qualities, capacity, and prestige; poor organizational and disciplinary awareness; loss of unity; fear of responsibility; not daring to do things; no ambition for progress, noble harmony or manifestations of ambition for power, term thinking, flattery, lobbying, corruption, negativity, bureaucracy, localism, group interests...", Mr. Tam emphasized.
Those who violate discipline, declare assets untruthfully, violate the responsibility of setting an example, let wives/husbands/children have an unruly lifestyle, take advantage of positions to illegally profit; or let internal unity be lost, corruption and serious losses occur... will also not be included in the new Central Executive Committee.
