Prime Minister Le Minh Hung welcomed the ASEAN Ambassadors and Chargé d'Affaires in Hanoi and highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires and Embassies in developing relations between Vietnam and ASEAN countries.
The Prime Minister affirmed that he will continue to work with ASEAN leaders to promote cooperation between Vietnam and other countries to become increasingly in-depth, effective, and substantive; maintain close consultation and mutual support within ASEAN and at other multilateral and regional forums.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always values and gives high priority to relations with neighboring countries and the region as well as values ASEAN's role and position in implementing foreign policy; commits to continue to actively participate, make more proactive and substantive contributions to ASEAN cooperation.
The Prime Minister requested Ambassadors and Charges to continue to make substantive contributions to the strong development of relations between Vietnam and ASEAN countries in the coming time.
In the context of the world and regional situation developing complicatedly, the Prime Minister requested ASEAN to strengthen the maintenance of solidarity, unity, improve self-reliance and strategic autonomy, consolidate its central role in ASEAN structures and methods and standards; continue to innovate thinking, broaden vision, diversify forms and cooperative relations, and continue to maintain a peaceful and stable environment to facilitate development.
The Prime Minister requested ASEAN to make efforts to further deepen intra-bloc trade and investment relations, effectively exploit new growth drivers; improve strength, resilience and collective resilience; consolidate traditional relations, promote people-to-people exchanges, and connect.
The Prime Minister also proposed that the building of the ASEAN Community should continue to be inclusive and sustainable, taking the interests of the people as a measure for all policies and cooperation activities.
On behalf of the Ambassadors and Charges d'Affaires of ASEAN countries in Hanoi, Philippine Ambassador Francisco Noel R. Fernandez III respectfully thanked Prime Minister Le Minh Hung for taking the time to receive the delegation; conveyed the greetings and visits of senior leaders of ASEAN countries to the Prime Minister; affirmed the commitment of ASEAN member countries to closely coordinate with Vietnam to strengthen bilateral cooperation and within the ASEAN framework.
The Philippine Ambassador emphasized that the implementation of Vietnam's foreign relations with all ASEAN countries in the past time has achieved many positive and substantive steps, especially the very successful visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and the keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue. Cooperation mechanisms are effective; cooperation on the Parliamentary channel is increasingly substantive.
Highly appreciating Vietnam's efforts in leading cooperation in the region, for peace, stability and common prosperity, the Philippine Ambassador congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the ASEAN Future Forum 2026 with the participation of leaders of many ASEAN countries; affirmed that ASEAN countries will continue to support this strategic initiative of Vietnam. The Philippine Ambassador also thanked Vietnam for actively supporting the Philippines to assume the responsibility of ASEAN Chairmanship 2026.
On behalf of the Ambassadors and Charges d'Affaires of ASEAN countries, the Philippine Ambassador congratulated Vietnam's efforts in maintaining high economic growth towards the goal of becoming a developed country by 2045; committed to promoting trade and investment cooperation within the ASEAN bloc; and proposed that the Prime Minister continue to pay attention to promoting the implementation of investment agreements and projects between Vietnam and ASEAN countries.
The Philippine Ambassador affirmed that ASEAN countries will continue to accompany Vietnam in implementing strategies and tasks for socio-economic development, constantly improving people's lives.
