Vietnam always values Mexico's role and position in Latin America

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always considers the Mexican Labor Party as a traditional and reliable partner of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a high-level delegation of the Mexican Labor Party led by Comrade Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, Senator, General Secretary of the Mexican Labor Party (PT) visited and worked in Vietnam, from August 16-21, 2026, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On August 19, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary and President To Lam cordially received the high-level delegation of the PT Party.

At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values Mexico's role and position in Latin America and considers the PT Party as a traditional and reliable partner of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the role, position and contributions of the General Secretary and the PT Party to consolidating relations between the two Parties, as well as to left-wing and progressive movements in Mexico and Latin America; emphasizing that in the context of the international and regional situation being volatile, left-wing and progressive forces strengthen solidarity, exchange experiences and coordinate with important significance.

Regarding the relationship between the two Parties and two countries, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure at the strong development of the traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Mexico, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment... making Mexico and Vietnam top trade partners of each other in each region.

General Secretary and President To Lam agreed with the assessment that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the PT Party has many similarities in concerning development issues, social justice, improving people's lives, protecting national independence and sovereignty, and strengthening solidarity and international cooperation, which has been maintained and developed positively in the past time.

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed the signing of the Cooperation Agreement for the period 2026 - 2031 by the two Parties during this visit and considered it an important milestone, showing the common determination to consolidate the political foundation to contribute to promoting Vietnam-Mexico cooperation relations to a new height.

Proud and touched to meet General Secretary and President To Lam, General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez expressed his pleasure to lead the high-level delegation of the PT Party to revisit Vietnam, witnessing the great changes of Vietnam in the new era.

General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez expressed his respect for President Ho Chi Minh, emphasizing that his ideological teachings have been and are being inherited and applied very creatively and successfully by the Party, State and people of Vietnam; highly appreciating the great contribution of General Secretary and President To Lam to the revolutionary and renovation cause of Vietnam.

General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez expressed his belief that, with a new development vision, the Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary and President To Lam will achieve many important victories, not only enhancing Vietnam's international position and national strength, but also creating a reference model, a great source of encouragement for left-wing and progressive forces in Mexico in particular, as well as the Latin American region and the world in general.

General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez affirmed that the PT Party always values and wishes to constantly consolidate the traditional friendly relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam, effectively and comprehensively implement the new Cooperation Agreement between the two Parties and implement Mexico - Vietnam relations on channels; take good advantage of being a member of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) to expand trade turnover, supplement and support each other, contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries to develop quickly, sustainably and substantially, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in each region and the world.

General Secretary and President To Lam and General Secretary Alberto Anaya Gutierrez agreed to further strengthen the coordination between the two Parties in promoting high-level and high-level delegation exchanges between the two Parties and the two countries; exchange theoretical and practical experiences through organizing seminars, thematic seminars and exchanges of research delegations to share experiences on issues of mutual concern; promote the role of the two Parties in orienting Vietnam-Mexico relations; strengthen coordination between the two Parties at international forums and political party mechanisms as well as strengthen exchanges between the young generation to strengthen the relationship between the two Parties in the coming time.
