On July 30, the People's Council of Vinh Long province, term X, passed a Resolution allowing continued work arrangement for part-time workers at the commune level, performing the task of supporting the political system of communes and wards.
According to the Submission 48/TTr-UBND, Vinh Long will continue to arrange 3,274 non-professional people at the commune level to support the political system in 124 communes and wards before May 31, 2026.
The Resolution aims to specify Conclusion 163-KL/TW, Official Letter 12/CV-BCD, orienting to extend the employment of non-professional workers until May 31, 2026, in line with the roadmap for arranging villages and residential groups.
Before implementing the 2-level local government model, the total number of non-professional workers at the commune level assigned to localities (old Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long) was 4,844 people.
By July 1, 2025, Vinh Long has resolved policies for 1,041 non-professional people according to Official Dispatch 12/CV-BCD and Decree 154/2025/ND-CP. Currently, the whole province has 3,390 non-professional workers in 124 communes and wards.
Of which, 3,251 people continue to be assigned to work support positions for the operation of the political system of the new commune-level administrative unit and 139 people are assigned to be non-professional workers in hamlets, quarters, and neighborhoods.
