Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Official Dispatch No. 55/CD-TTg dated May 2, 2025, requesting ministries, branches and localities to strengthen coordination and strictly handle organizations and individuals related to the production and trading of fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods.
According to the dispatch, in recent times, the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies have continuously discovered and investigated cases of production and trading of fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods on a large scale over a long period of time, causing public outrage among the people.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security to speed up the investigation of discovered cases and cases; coordinate with competent authorities to promptly handle them according to the provisions of law.
Direct local police to continue to grasp the situation, promptly detect and prevent, not to let violations escape and handle violations of the law related to the production and trading of fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods.
The Ministry of Health strengthens inspection of compliance with legal regulations on pharmaceuticals and food safety, while noting to strengthen state management of cosmetics, to prevent violations.
Closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in investigating and handling cases of production and sale of fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense according to the functions, tasks, the authority to coordinate with the concerned ministries, agencies and localities to promote inspection and supervision of circulation and distribution activities at retail channels, agents, e -commerce floors ... promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle fake production and trading activities.
Deploy tasks and solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit and poor quality goods, especially counterfeit medicine, fake milk and counterfeit health protection foods; at the same time, closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in investigating and handling cases of production and trading of counterfeit goods.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinates with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies in reviewing and handling violations in advertising activities in newspapers, online platforms, social networking platforms, and publications related to cases of production and trading of fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods according to the provisions of law.
Strengthen inspection of compliance with legal regulations on advertising, especially advertising of goods on medicine, milk and health protection foods, promptly prevent and strictly handle violations.
The People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities direct competent agencies to organize peak periods to conduct general reviews and inspections of compliance with laws on pharmaceuticals and food safety for establishments selling drugs and health protection foods in the area and strictly handle violations according to regulations.
Check and handle the advertising and sale of medicine and health protection foods on the network environment; urgently review and recall fake medicine, fake milk and fake health protection foods that have been discovered in the area, to promptly prevent and minimize the harm to people.
