The Government Office has just issued Document No. 3700/VPCP-KGVX dated April 28, 2025, conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on handling the issue of fake medicine.
Recently, after the production and sale of fake medicine was discovered in some localities, the press has many articles reflecting people's concerns and concerns about the problem of fake medicine, requesting the need to promptly and effectively handle the problem of fake medicine.
Regarding this issue, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long directed the Ministry of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to urgently review and evaluate the current status of legal regulations and the situation and results of drug quality management and prevention of counterfeit drugs in the past time.
Have appropriate solutions, especially on the responsibility of the drug supply establishment in compliance with the provisions of the law on pharmacy and the responsibility of the local government in improving the effectiveness of the quality management of medicines and preventing fake drugs in the area; Report the results to the Prime Minister before May 5, 2025.
The Ministry of Health continues to direct the promotion and improvement of the effectiveness of connecting drug supply facilities, electronic medical records, and electronic prescriptions according to the instructions of the Prime Minister in Directive No. 23/CT-TTg, Directive No. 07/CT-TTg and in Official Dispatch No. 668/VPCP-KGVX.
