Vietnam is one of the countries heavily affected by natural disasters, storms, floods, and landslides. Every year, there are dozens of storms and floods across the S-shaped strip of land, seriously affecting the economy and people's lives, especially in coastal and mountainous areas.
In difficult times for people, Agribank is always a pioneer in supporting localities and people to overcome the consequences with direct funding (cash, necessities) and flexible credit policies ( Debt restructuring, interest rate exemption, preferential interest lending).

In July 2025, Typhoon Wipha made landfall in the provinces from Hung Yen to Ninh Binh, causing strong gusts of wind of level 12 and widespread heavy rain. After the storm, from the end of July to the beginning of August, heavy rain caused flash floods, landslides, and inundation; serious damage to people, property, and infrastructure; greatly affected production and people's lives in the three provinces of Dien Bien, Son La, and Nghe An.
In Dien Bien, 17 people died and were injured in severe floods, with property damage estimated at up to 700 billion VND (according to the report of the Dien Bien Provincial Fatherland Front Committee). In Nghe An - the locality that suffered the most damage due to floods and storm No. 3, statistics as of July 31 show that nearly 7,500 houses were collapsed and buried, completely damaged and washed away; 40 schools and thousands of hectares of crops and production forests were destroyed; infrastructure systems such as roads, schools, medical stations, agency headquarters were damaged... the total initial damage value is estimated at about 3,546 billion VND.
Joining hands with localities and people to overcome difficulties, in early August, Agribank allocated 6 billion VND to support the 3 provinces of Dien Bien, Son La and Nghe An (2 billion VND per province), contributing with local authorities to help people soon stabilize their lives.
In the spirit of mutual love, Agribank Nam Nghe An Branch also organized a campaign for union members to join hands to support and help people in flooded areas of Nghe An to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. On August 2, 2025, the Trade Union in coordination with the Agribank Youth Union of Nam Nghe An Branch organized a Youth Union to directly visit, share difficulties and give support to people in severely affected communes with a total amount of 175 million VND.


Every year, Agribank always spends a large amount of money to carry out social security activities, supporting localities and people affected by natural disasters. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, Agribank has spent 63 billion VND to finance the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters out of a total of 252 billion VND to support community activities and social security.
