In the context of strong recovery of international tourism and increasing demand for cross-border payments, National Payment Joint Stock Company of Vietnam (NAPAS) in collaboration with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has launched a special incentive program for customers scanning payment QR codes in Thailand through VietQR Global service.
The promotion encourages users to experience modern and safe payment methods during the peak tourism season at the end of the year, especially on the occasion of the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand.
The program is implemented from December 10 to December 25, applying to BIDV customers who successfully pay by QR code through the BIDV SmartBanking application at payment acceptance units (PPs) in Thailand, one of the markets with a strong growth in the number of Vietnamese tourists in recent years.
Refund up to 40% for each transaction - direct incentives for users
The focus of the program is the 33% refund incentive, up to 330,000 VND/transaction, when paying bills from 200,000 VND or more by QR at payment service providers in Thailand on the BIDV SmartBanking application.
Customers will enjoy the maximum incentive 03 times during the promotion period, equivalent to a refund that can be up to nearly 1 million VND if they take advantage of the full number of trips. With popular spending needs of tourists such as dining, shopping, sightseeing, entertainment... this promotion brings practical benefits, while significantly reducing costs arising during the trip.
5 million VND reward for customers with the most spending
In addition to the direct refund promotion, the program also offers awards to customers with the highest total payment value via QR code in Thailand during the promotion period. Customers who meet the condition of a total minimum spending of 10 million VND will have the opportunity to receive a cash prize of 5,000,000 VND.
Customers only need to open the BIDV SmartBanking application to make payments by scanning the QR code at ThaiQR, Promptpay payment acceptance points and payment acceptance points of 5 banks including BangkokBank (BBL), Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Kasikorn Bank (Kbank), Krung Thai Bank (KTB), Bank of Ayudhya (BAY).
The program not only motivates customers to increase their experience with new payment methods, but also contributes to promoting VietQR Global services more widely in the community of Vietnamese users traveling abroad.
The cooperation between NAPAS and BIDV in this program continues to show efforts to expand the cross-border payment network, helping Vietnamese customers to conveniently pay abroad without having to bring cash. With VietQR Global, users just need to open the BIDV SmartBanking application, scan the QR code at payment acceptance points in Thailand and complete the transaction immediately.
With the advantages of convenience, speed and security, VietQR Global is an important step forward in NAPAS' strategy of connecting cross-border payment services with countries in the region, contributing to bringing Vietnam's payment method into line with international digital payment trends. Currently, VIETQR Global has been applied in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and most recently China.
The VietQR Global promotion program between NAPAS and BIDV takes place right when Vietnamese tourists are preparing to enter the end of the year tourism season. The application of incentives in Thailand, a favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists, shows the efforts of the two units in creating the most favorable conditions for users to experience cross-border digital payment methods.
Through the cooperation program with BIDV, NAPAS continues to affirm its central role in developing national retail payment infrastructure and promoting international connectivity. The expansion of VietQR Global to the Thai market is an important step in the roadmap to bring Vietnamese payment to Southeast Asia, contributing to improving the modern payment experience for people and elevating the position of the Vietnamese payment industry.
