Vietnam's first complete linkage model
Thi Vai - Nhon Trach Chain is a modern gas - LNG connection model, synchronous from the stage of receiving, storing and regenerating gas at Thi Vai LNG port warehouse, to gas transportation and power generation at Nhon Trach center. In particular, NT3&4, invested by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PV Power), plays a key role in converting to high-performance electricity. With a capacity of 1,624MW and an expected output of more than 9 billion kWh/year, NT3&4 is the link that determines the efficiency of the entire chain, because the operating technology, power generation efficiency and reliability of the plant cluster directly reflect the optimal LNG exploitation capacity of the system.
The synchronous completion from input to output not only ensures stability and flexibility in operation but also creates a model for LNG power plants that Petrovietnam is oriented to develop in the future. NT3 & 4 is therefore not just a connection point.
PV Power affirms its role as project owner - a solid foundation for new progress
PV Power's commitment to Vietnam's first LNG project has marked the maturity of the enterprise from the role of operating traditional power plants, to mastering new-generation gas turbine technology, modern mixed-use control and operation systems, meeting international environmental - safety - social standards, and arranging nearly 1 billion USD in foreign loans without government guarantees.
The success of NT3 & 4 therefore does not stop at completing a large-scale project, the project also affirms PV Power's capacity to develop large-scale LNG power projects in the future, contributing to increasing a stable base of electricity, adding more than 9 billion kWh per year to the system, reducing the load pressure in the Southern region and reducing CO2 emissions thanks to high efficiency and using clean fuel. The operation of the two plants also opens up the Vietnamese LNG market, creating momentum to attract investment and laying the foundation for Petrovietnam to form modern LNG power plants in the following stages.
With those values, the project effectively adds new power sources, opening an important foundation for Vietnam's LNG era, making a practical contribution to ensuring energy security and promoting the process of transition to green - clean - sustainable energy.
