At the Group's headquarters, General Director of TKV Group Vu Anh Tuan just chaired a meeting to listen to the feasibility study report of the project to expand and increase the capacity of Nhan Co Alumina Production Plant. Chairman of the Member Council (MC) of the Group Ngo Hoang Ngan attended and directed the meeting.
Also attending the meeting were Members of the Member Council, Deputy General Directors of the Group; representatives of professional committees, TKV Appraisal Team, related units and consulting units preparing reports and appraisal consulting.
According to the report, the project belongs to group A, level I project, investing in line 2 at Nhan Co Alumina Production Plant with a designed capacity of 1.2 million tons of alumina/year. The project's product is sand-form alumina serving aluminum electrolysis, aimed at the domestic market and export.
The main items include alumina production line, energy workshop, coal gasification workshop, dry red mud treatment and storage system, water supply system, 110kV power line and auxiliary works.
The project continues to apply low-pressure Bayer separation technology, while updating advanced technology solutions to improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and limit emissions.
The design plan focuses on utilizing the infrastructure invested in phase 1, strengthening intercommunication between the two lines; heat, water and alkali recovery; and improving the level of automation in management and operation.
The total estimated investment of the project is about 24,704 billion VND; basic construction time is 45 months, production time is 30 years. According to consultants' calculations, the project can achieve an average revenue of about 12,741 billion VND/year, creating direct jobs for more than 500 workers and indirect jobs for about 1,000 workers.

At the meeting, delegates focused on exchanging views on legal basis; technology and equipment selection; raw material sources; water, electricity and coal supply options; environmental protection solutions; total investment, financial efficiency and project implementation progress.
Speaking to direct, Chairman of the Member Council of TKV Group Ngo Hoang Ngan emphasized that the project is of great significance in the strategy of developing the mineral and metallurgical sector of the Group.
The Chairman of the Board of Members requested that the project dossier must be carefully studied, ensuring synchronization, modernity, safety, efficiency and full compliance with legal regulations; select appropriate technology, maximize existing infrastructure, strictly control environmental impact, and review the feasibility of raw materials, energy sources and financial indicators.
Concluding the meeting, General Director of TKV Group Vu Anh Tuan requested the Project Management Board of Nhan Co Alumina Plant - Vinacomin to coordinate with the consulting unit to fully absorb the opinions and continue to complete the feasibility study report.
Professional Boards and Appraisal Teams urgently review and clarify the technology plan, equipment list, common items, total investment, project progress and efficiency, ensuring that the dossier is of quality and has sufficient basis to report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
