Busy buying gold to celebrate a wedding amid rising prices

At many gold shops in Hanoi, people's demand for gold is still high. Many people take advantage of coming early, waiting before opening time in the hope of buying gold rings or gold bars to store, or buying them as wedding gifts.
On Tran Nhan Tong street, Ms. Do Thu Nga (Cua Nam ward, Hanoi) said that before, when they got married, she and her husband were given gold by a friend, so when the day they got married, she wanted to pay off the ceremony. However, the sharp increase in gold prices makes buying gold for wedding more difficult than expected.
"Last year I got married and were given gold as a wedding gift by friends, but then my wife and I sold everything to make ends meet. In the near future, a friend is getting married, so I also want to buy gold to celebrate.
However, currently, wherever they go, they are reported to be out of stock, while listed prices have increased rapidly, much higher than in 2024" - Ms. Nga shared.
She added that the store has not announced whether it will open for sale or not and if so, how much will she sell, so she still has to wait.
Similarly, Ms. Pham Quynh Anh (Phu Dong commune, Hanoi) is also busy looking to buy gold rings for her wedding.
According to Ms. Quynh Anh, in recent days, many stores have limited the number of sales, making it more difficult to buy gold. She and many others had to wait in long lines.
"Although the price of gold has increased, I still try to buy it because before when I got married, my relatives gave me gold. Now that they are married, I also want to repay their love. I am waiting to see if the shop will sell them, hopefully I can buy 2 taels of gold rings" - Ms. Quynh Anh said.

The price of SJC gold bars was listed by Bao Tin Minh Chau at 154.1-154.6 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 3.6 million VND/tael in both directions compared to yesterday morning.
At the same time, DOJI Group listed the price of gold rings at 151.5-154.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 2 million VND/tael for buying and an increase of 3.6 million VND/tael compared to yesterday morning.
Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 157.5-160.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 2 million VND/tael in both directions compared to yesterday morning.
Recorded at 11:48 a.m. on October 21 (Vietnam time), the world spot gold price was listed at 4,340.28 USD/ounce.
