The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Clause 7, Article 2 of the Regulations on recruitment of civil servants and public employees, civil servant promotion exams issued with Circular No. 001/2025/TT-BNV of the Minister of Home Affairs (effective from May 1, 2025) stipulates regulations related to handling candidates who violate the law as follows:
a) Exam results:
Candidates who are reprimanded in any test will have 25% of their total correct answers deducted or 25% of their total points achieved in that test.
Candidates who are warned in any test will have 50% of their total correct answers deducted or 50% of their total points achieved in that test.
When summarizing the results, based on the record of handling of violations made by the examination and examination room supervisor and the report of the Examination Committee, the Head of the Interviewing Department, the Head of the Examination Committee, the Chairman of the Council reviewed and decided the except for the correct answer number or deducted the score.
b) In case the candidate causes unsafety or disorder affecting the exam room, in addition to being suspended or having the exam results canceled, depending on the nature and severity, he/she will be handled according to the provisions of the law on handling administrative or criminal violations.
c) Candidates who are cadres, civil servants, and public employees, if their exam results are suspended or canceled, the head of the competent agency or unit to manage them shall consider and handle them according to the provisions of law on cadres, civil servants, and public employees.
Thus, candidates taking the civil servant and public employee recruitment exam who are reprimanded will have 25% of the total points for correct answers deducted or 25% of the total points achieved in that exam.
