How to find a job when receiving unemployment benefits?

Article 21 of Decree 374/2025/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Employment on unemployment insurance (effective from January 1, 2026) stipulates the notification of job search as follows:

1. During the period of receiving unemployment benefits, every month employees must directly or through the National Public Service Portal notify about job search to the public employment service organization where they are receiving unemployment benefits according to Form No. 24 issued together with this Decree.

2. The date the employee announces monthly about job search is specifically recorded in the appendix of the decision to receive unemployment benefits for the employee as follows:

a) The monthly notice date for job search of the first month of receiving unemployment benefits is within 03 working days when the employee is returned the results of resolving unemployment benefits;

b) From the second month of receiving unemployment benefits onwards, the monthly notification date for job search is within 03 working days from the first day of the month of receiving unemployment benefits.

In case, the time of notification of job search is within the period when employees are affected by fires, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, enemy disasters, epidemics and cannot be notified of job search, the public employment service organization shall consider and submit to the Director of the Department of Home Affairs for decision on adjusting the date of monthly notification of job search to ensure the rights of employees.

3. In case the date of notification of job search for the employee is within the time of transfer to receive unemployment benefits, the employee shall notify monthly of job search to the public employment service organization where the transfer is made.

4. Employees who are receiving unemployment benefits are considered to have notified monthly about job search when they have correctly and fully recorded the contents in the monthly notice about job search and are responsible for the content of the notice.

5. Within 02 working days from the date of expiration of the notice of monthly job search of employees, public employment service organizations must inform the social insurance agency of cases that have not been notified of monthly job search to stop paying unemployment benefits according to regulations.

Thus, from January 1, 2026, people who are receiving unemployment benefits will be notified to look for jobs according to the above regulations.
