Article 30 of Decree No. 374/2025/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Employment (effective from January 1, 2026) stipulates the obligations of employees as follows:
1. Pay unemployment insurance fully and in accordance with regulations.
2. Strictly implement regulations on participating in unemployment insurance.
3. Preserve and use social insurance books and health insurance cards according to regulations.
4. Employees who sign multiple labor contracts when terminating labor contracts and are participating in unemployment insurance must notify the next employer to continue participating in unemployment insurance according to regulations.
5. Submit applications for unemployment benefits and vocational training support according to regulations at public employment service organizations when needed.
6. Monthly notify the public employment service organization about job search during the time of receiving unemployment benefits according to regulations.
7. Within 10 working days from the date of submitting the application for unemployment benefits/training support, professional skills improvement, if the employee finds a job, they must immediately notify the public employment service organization where the application for unemployment benefits is submitted.
8. Receive notification of not being entitled to unemployment benefits or not being supported in vocational skills training and improvement, decisions on receiving unemployment benefits, decisions on canceling decisions on receiving unemployment benefits, decisions on supporting vocational skills training and improvement, decisions on temporarily suspending the enjoyment of unemployment benefits, decisions on continuing to receive unemployment benefits, decisions on terminating the enjoyment of unemployment benefits, decisions on preserving the unemployment insurance contribution period according to regulations.
9. Notice according to regulations to public employment service organizations when falling into cases of termination of unemployment benefits according to regulations.
10. Participate in and implement the provisions of law on training, fostering, and improving professional skills when employers organize training, fostering, and improving professional skills to maintain employment for employees according to the support decision of the Director of the Department of Home Affairs.
11. Fully implement the provisions of law on unemployment insurance and other relevant legal regulations.
Thus, from 2026, employees when participating in unemployment insurance must ensure the full implementation of the above obligations.
