Standards for appointment to the rank of Inspector of the People's Public Security

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 14 of Decree 273/2025/ND-CP (effective from October 20, 2025) regulating the organization and operation of People's Public Security inspections stipulates the standards for appointment to the inspectorate as follows:

1. General standards:

Meet the standards specified in Clause 2, Article 8 of the Law on Inspection and the following standards:

a) classified as a cadre at the level of completing tasks well or better in the year of work immediately preceding the year of appointment; not within the disciplinary period or considering disciplinary action;

b) Have a university degree from the Public Security University or higher or a university degree in another major or higher and have been trained in Public Security; know how to use IT and foreign languages in accordance with working requirements or know ethnic minority languages in areas with many ethnic minorities.

2. Specific standards:

Have a certificate of training in inspector skills.

Thus, the appointment to the rank of Inspector of the People's Public Security is based on the standards according to the above regulations.
