A reader with email duclongxxx@gmail.com asked: To become an inspector, what standards must be met according to the new regulations?

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 10 of Decree 216/2025/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of the Law on Inspection (effective from August 5, 2025) stipulates the standards for inspectors as follows:

1. Meet the standards specified in Clause 2, Article 8 of the Law on Inspection.

2. Having worked at an inspection agency for at least 02 years or having worked for at least 05 years or more for cadres, civil servants, public employees, officers of the People's Army, officers of the People's Public Security, and people working in key positions at other agencies, organizations, or units transferred to the inspection agency.

3. Have an inspector training certificate and other certificates as prescribed by law on cadres and civil servants.

Clause 2, Article 8 of the 2025 Law on Inspection stipulates general standards for being classified or appointed to the inspectorate rank, including:

a) As a civil servant, officer of the People's Army, officer of the People's Public Security, or a person working in secret service, except in cases where the Government otherwise stipulates for the Inspectorate of the Inspectorate established under international treaties;

b) Loyal to the Fatherland and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; have good moral qualities; have a sense of responsibility, integrity, honesty, fairness, and objectivity;

Thus, from August 5, 2025, to become an inspector, it is necessary to meet the standards according to the above regulations.
