In nearly 4 months of launching, as of August 10, 2025, 1,040 press works have been submitted to the 3rd National Press Award "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" - 2025 from most central and local press agencies. The quantity and quality of the entries this year show the deep interest of journalists in the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.
After a thorough review, 927 qualified entries were included in the preliminary round (from August 30 to September 15, 2025), including 223 printed newspapers, 385 electronic newspapers, 45 Radio works, 103 Television works and 171 Photo works.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: "This year's National Press Award takes place in the context of many changes and profound changes in the country, both breaking old things and creating momentum for development in all fields. That is also the material for journalists and writers to acknowledge and write outstanding works for their lives".
In addition, the Deputy Minister stated that the leaders of the Party and State have always paid attention to culture. Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned the task of drafting a Resolution of the Politburo on the promotion and development of Vietnamese culture in the new era. This creates encouragement and excitement for the cultural sector, culturalists and expects all Vietnamese people for the strong development of our country's culture.
Through the process of independent evaluation and focused discussion, with an objective and fair spirit, the Preliminary Subcommittees selected 122 best works for the final round. The works include: 25 printed newspapers, 30 electronic newspapers, 22 radio works, 25 television works and 20 photos.
According to the Preliminary Council's assessment, the entries to the Award are not only high in quantity and diverse in topics, but also have good professional quality, gathering many large and small press agencies in the Central and local levels. The works all closely follow major topics, reflecting strongly the important events of 2024 - 2025 in the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.
Some outstanding topics are of interest and exploitation by many groups of authors such as: Issues about the position and role of culture in the new era of the nation; Issues of opportunities in building and developing the entertainment industry, film market, book market and reading culture; developing tourism, sports, building families, protecting children...; Issues of preserving and promoting, preserving Vietnamese relics and cultural heritages...
Hot issues of society such as: the spirit of mutual love, solidarity in storms and floods; the story of catching the patriotic trend... were also of interest to many authors, sending entries.
After the selection process, the third national press award ceremony "For the development of Vietnamese culture" - 2025 is scheduled to take place on November 6, 2025 at Ho Guom Theater (Hanoi). The event will be a festival for journalists in the cultural field, a forum for exchanging, sharing experiences and spreading creative inspiration.
