The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued an official dispatch on reviewing, evaluating and strengthening the work of protecting, preserving and promoting the value of national treasures in the area.

Accordingly, Chairman of Bac Ninh People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over, review and assess the status of the display, preservation and protection of national treasures directly managing in the area; Report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Management (via the Cultural Heritage Department) before 6.6.2025.
Departments, branches and units have the above name, according to the functions and tasks, presiding over and organizing the implementation of the directions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ensuring practicality, efficiency and in accordance with the law, contributing to promoting the value of national treasures in the area. Report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issues beyond the authority.
Bac Ninh is the land of festivals and relics. The province currently has 1,558 historical relics, including 195 national relics, 386 provincial relics, and about 500 large and small festivals held all year round.
There are currently 19 artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as National Treasures in the province. The most recent artifact of Bac Ninh recognized as a National Treasure is the Emperor's Golden seal, currently on display at the Nam Hong Royal Museum (Tu Son City).
National treasures in Bac Ninh are places that attract tens of thousands of tourists to visit, research and learn.
In a report sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in October 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province said that in the 11 years from 2013 to 2024, the locality has spent a total of over 565 billion VND on the restoration of relics with national treasure reserves.
Regarding the work of promoting the value of national treasures, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province said that it has paid attention to promoting and advertising the value of heritage, building tours to bring visitors to relics with national treasures and proposing to include in teaching local education through online connection with museums, with relic sites with national treasures.
Recently, the incident of the National Treasure - the Golden Throne of the Nguyen Dynasty being vandalized right in the middle of Thai Hoa Palace, Hue Imperial City on May 24 has raised many concerns related to the protection of national treasures.
The country currently has nearly 294 artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as National Treasures. The protection of heritages is said to be still rudimentary and lax.
