This year, the Golden Kite Awards Ceremony took place about 1 month later than initially expected, after information about a lack of organizational funds and prize money for winning individuals and organizations.
According to records, this year's awards ceremony is held at Dai Nam cinema (Hanoi) on a smaller scale than in previous years. Inside, the event space is designed to be minimalist, not fussy. The stage area and seats for guests are somewhat simple.

Canh Dieu is one of the two major professional awards of Vietnamese cinema, besides the Golden Lotus organized by the Department of Cinema.
In 2002, the Vietnam Cinema Association launched a design and idea-building contest for an annual award to honor domestic film works.
In 2003, the official award was named Golden Kite, with the kite symbol - representing the aspiration to rise and the sublimation of Vietnamese cinema.

After more than two decades of organization, the scale and form of the award have changed a lot. If the award ceremony mainly took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City before, it has been held in Nha Trang in the past three years.
Sharing in 2024, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association Do Lenh Hung Tu said that although operating nationwide, the Association's financial resources are still limited.
Organizing the award ceremony in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, including travel, accommodation and welcoming a large number of film and television artists, requires a very large budget.
Canh Dieu 2025 continues to maintain familiar categories such as Feature Films, Television Films, Animated Films, Documentary Films and Research Works.
Individuals and collectives who win prizes will be awarded cups and certificates.
