Recently, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has also issued a comprehensive plan to stimulate tourism demand for the 2025-2026 period with the goal of making the tourism industry an economic growth driver, enhancing the image of Dien Bien on the domestic and international tourism map.
Accordingly, the province set a target of welcoming 1.45 million visitors (including 14,000 international visitors) in 2025, with an average number of days of stay of 3 days, and total revenue from tourism activities estimated at VND 2,400 billion.
In 2026, welcoming over 1.6 million visitors (15,000 international visitors), staying for an average of 3 days, tourism revenue is estimated at VND 2,880 billion.
According to the Dien Bien Provincial Statistics Office, in the first 7 months of 2025, the number of tourists reached more than 870,000, down 38.3% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism activities reached nearly VND 1,579 billion, down 38.27% over the same period last year.
