The 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV) officially announced the "Vietnamese Film Contest" category with 11 typical works representing the outstanding trends of contemporary Vietnamese cinema.
The films participating in the competition include: Anh Hung (Hero), Bay Tien (Trap for money), Cuc vang cua ngoai (Grandmother's gold nugget), Mang me di bo (Taking mother to abandon), Mua do (Red rain), Nha ba toi mot phong (My father's house in one room), Oc muon hon (Snail borrowing soul), Phi Phong: Quy mau rung thieng (Devil blood of the sacred forest), Tai (Talented), Truy tim Long Dien Huong (Searching for Long Dien Huong) and Tu chien tren khong (Air battle).
Coming from many generations of filmmakers and spanning many genres, the works reflect the movements of society, family life, spirituality, historical memories and cultural identity in the context of Vietnam today.
According to the Organizing Committee, in recent years, Vietnamese cinema has recorded development in terms of production scale, box office revenue and diversity in storytelling language and genres.
Besides commercial successes, many filmmakers are also looking for new approaches to history, culture and contemporary issues, contributing to enriching the face of national cinema.
All screenings in the "Vietnamese Film Contest" category are held at CGV Vinh Trung, 4th floor, GO! Shopping Center, No. 255-257 Hung Vuong, Thanh Khe Ward, Da Nang City.
DANAFF IV takes place from June 28 to July 4, 2026, gathering outstanding works of Vietnamese and Asian cinema, and creating opportunities for exchange between filmmakers, artists, film experts and domestic and international film lovers.
