On October 31, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City authorities prosecuted and temporarily detained Truong Ngoc Anh to investigate the act of "abusing trust to appropriate property" related to the activities of the company she ran.
Truong Ngoc Anh was born in 1976 in Hanoi. She started her career as a model. She quickly became a familiar face in 1990s fashion magazines before switching to acting.
Starting in the 1990s, Truong Ngoc Anh became a successor to the screen through a series of films such as "Em still nho hay em quen", "Phap Truong am am", "Gia tu duoc vang" or "Dong tien dao luong". At that time, she was one of the faces loved by the audience for her handsome appearance and natural acting ability.
The role of Lan Anh in Dong Tien Huong Thuong or My in Gia Tu Ky Vang helped Truong Ngoc Anh become a bright face on Vietnamese television.
The big turning point in her career came when she switched to cinema. In 2006, Dan's role in "Ha Dong Silk shirt" brought Truong Ngoc Anh a series of prestigious awards.
Not stopping at her role as an actress, Truong Ngoc Anh entered the film industry and continued to make her mark with Huong Ga 2014 and Truy sat (2016). These two action films are both in which she plays the female lead and is a producer, contributing to the trend of action films with strong female characters in Vietnam. The image of a "female strong" associated with Truong Ngoc Anh has since been associated with her, causing the audience to call her the "new generation woman" of the Vietnamese screen, and to be compared in terms of strength with Ngo Thanh Van.
In recent years, Truong Ngoc Anh has collaborated with foreign countries such as Abduction, City of Crows and Dragonfly (Drum) (not yet complete).
In parallel with her artistic activities, she is also a businesswoman, involved in fashion business and is the national director of Miss Earth Vietnam - the copyright holder of Miss Earth in Vietnam. Truong Ngoc Anh has played the role of judge, consultant, and host in many TV shows, including Vietnam's Next Top Model.
