Contrary to expectations of a night of worship lasting many hours like New Year's Eve, designer Duc Hung said that this Tao Quan version is very special.
According to him, although costumes are still carefully prepared, the overall program is more like a version of reunion and gratitude to the audience than a traditional play.
I feel like these days are about New Year's Eve, the emotions are still intact every time I prepare costumes for the Taos," designer Duc Hung expressed.
He revealed that the costumes of artists are always personalized based on the preferences and personality of the characters.
If artist Quang Thang always prioritizes bright red, artist Chi Trung prefers more unique and eye-catching tones. The character Ngoc Hoang still maintains a standard model with solemn costumes, respecting traditional values that have been shaped for many decades.
Notably, designer Duc Hung revealed a surprising detail: "I reveal that this time there is no Ngoc Hoang - Nam Tao - Bac Dau trio". This is considered a difference compared to the familiar Tao Quan script structure.
Regarding the creative process, designer Duc Hung affirmed that Tao Quan costumes are not like international fashion collections but must be within the framework of the script to support acting. As the third person to grasp the content after the screenwriter and director, he must carefully calculate every detail. For example, Bac Dau's white dress in the year with the theme "Continental Beauty" is completely a requirement from the script and must be strictly approved by the director.
Before the curiosity about whether any "hot" social issues will be reflected through costumes, designer Duc Hung did not specifically reveal the design implications but affirmed that the combination of content and form in this broadcast will be very attractive.
