Victor Vu makes ancient costume film "Chien Bao" inspired by the Lam Son uprising

Director Victor Vu officially introduces the movie project "Chien Bao", inspired by the Lam Son uprising.

Immediately after completing the filming process of the movie "Detective Kien" part 2, director Victor Vu and his crew announced a new film project called "Chien Bao" at Lam Kinh Relic Site (Thanh Hoa). The work is developed based on inspiration from the Lam Son uprising - one of the important milestones in national history.

2028 marks the 610th anniversary of the Lam Son uprising breaking out, ending two decades of the Ming Dynasty's domination and opening up the Later Le dynasty.

Set in the early stages of the uprising, "Chien Bao" recreates the journey of Le Loi from a son of Thanh land carrying the aspiration to regain independence for the country to building forces with the righteous soldiers, gradually creating a uprising that went down in history.

Sharing about the project, director Victor Vu said that as a filmmaker, every time I stand before Vietnamese history, I always feel very small. Four thousand years of building and defending the country of my ancestors contain so many feats of arms, sacrifices and outstanding people that sometimes I wonder if cinema can fully describe that greatness.

Lam Son Uprising is such a chapter in history. It is not only a story of battles, but also a story of patriotism, of the desire for freedom and the indomitable will of so many people who have gone through ten years of hardship together to regain the country. A story full of emotions, worthy of being told to future generations.

Therefore, instead of just standing from afar admiring and hesitantly facing history, we boldly ask our ancestors, to the heroes who made history, to respectfully recall a special story about them - the heroes who made the glorious pages of the country's history in the cinematic language of today's era," the director said.

He affirmed that no film can cover the greatness of the past. However, the "Chien Bao" crew will try with all the respect, gratitude and responsibility of the storytellers.

Accompanying Victor Vu in the project are producer Dinh Ngoc Diep, publisher Galaxy Studio, photography director Dominic Pereira, art director Ghia Ci Fam, screenwriters Tottochan and Kim Li Bac, and cultural and historical advisor Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Them.

According to the crew, "Chien Bao" is currently in the pre-production stage. The film crew is conducting document research, consulting with cultural and historical experts, and preparing production stages to realistically recreate the setting and spirit of the Lam Son uprising.

Not only telling the story of a historic victory, the film also aims to portray patriotism, solidarity and the will to overcome adversity of ordinary people. All of this has contributed to creating a heroic period in the nation's history.

According to the plan, "Chien Bao" will be produced in the near future and is expected to be released to audiences in 2028.
