The event is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, towards celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper (March 11, 1951 – March 11, 2026). The contest was launched from June 28, 2025 and ended with the receipt of entries on January 31, 2026, aiming to record the vivid imprints of the country in nearly 40 years of renovation.
According to the Organizing Committee, the contest received nearly 4,000 individual photo entries and photo sets from more than 400 authors and groups of authors from many provinces and cities across the country. The oldest author was born in 1946, while the youngest author was born in 2008.
The participating works reflect diverse fields of social life such as economy, culture, labor production, science and technology, urban construction, rural life or images of the armed forces in peacetime.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: "The entries show serious investment, truthfully and vividly reflecting the face of Vietnam in the period of comprehensive renovation, the jury has selected and awarded prizes to 22 excellent works.
This year's works are quite uniform, reaching a high level, but there are no truly comprehensively superior works, which shows that the general level has been raised but still needs to find breakthroughs,... ".
Through many rounds of fair and scientific scoring, the Judging Panel selected 22 excellent works to award prizes, including: 2 A prizes, 3 B prizes, 5 C prizes and 12 consolation prizes.
According to the assessment of the Judging Council, the quality of this year's works is quite uniform, many photos reach a high level in both content and art. However, there are no truly outstanding works that are comprehensive enough to be awarded special prizes.

The winning works and displayed at the exhibition vividly recreated the strong movements of the country in the development process.
From images of modern infrastructure projects, vibrant industrial parks, to the urgent working rhythm of people or the simple beauty of rural areas changing every day.

In the group A, the works made a strong impression thanks to their tight structure, journalistic moments and clear messages about the dynamic development of the country.

Meanwhile, the B and C prize works bring many diverse perspectives on social life, from images of farmers in high-tech fields, workers in industrial parks to the vibrant pace of modern urban areas.

Immediately after the award ceremony, the photo exhibition "Vietnam on the journey of renovation" opened to visitors. Many people, tourists and students majoring in journalism and photography spent time admiring each photo on display.

Many young people also expressed interest in witnessing journalistic works rich in art. Many students took the opportunity to take photos, take notes and exchange views on photography techniques as well as journalistic perspectives of each work.

According to the Organizing Committee, in addition to awarding prizes, many high-quality works of the contest will be selected for publication in a photo book about the contest, in order to preserve and widely spread typical images of Vietnam in its development journey.
The exhibition not only honors excellent journalistic photo works but also contributes to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam who are dynamic, creative and have a strong desire to rise up in the renovation period.
