
From April 14 to May 2, 2026, the Provincial People's Committee will organize many activities, focusing on implementing many practical contents to arouse the passion for reading and build a reading culture in the community. Accordingly, on April 15, at the Dong Thap Provincial Culture - Event Center (Dao Thanh ward), Dong Thap province will hold a launching ceremony for Book and Reading Culture Day.
This is the opening event, creating momentum for the entire chain of response activities in the area. Book Day is widely deployed throughout the school and public library system, contributing to bringing books closer to students and people. Educational and library units will organize book displays, introduce good books, create a friendly reading space, and encourage regular reading habits.

The highlight of the program is attractive competitions and contests including the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest and the book painting contest, scheduled to be held on April 18 at the Provincial Library (facility 1, Cao Lanh ward). In addition, the book storytelling contest in English will take place on April 25, contributing to improving foreign language skills and literary appreciation ability for students.
Many thematic activities are also organized diversely such as thematic talks on books and reading culture (April 16), author exchange - product introduction (April 17) at the Provincial Library.

In particular, the reading program for people with disabilities on the morning of April 17 shows concern for vulnerable groups, contributing to building an equal and humane reading environment.
Responding activities are also widely deployed throughout the province such as mobilizing donations and giving books to children in difficult circumstances; organizing activities of book printing and distribution units; mobilizing the participation of departments, agencies, branches and socio-political organizations.
Through the series of events, Dong Thap expects to continue to spread the value of books, arouse the spirit of self-study and self-research, thereby contributing to building a learning society, developing high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the locality and the country.
