What to expect when looking for a job
As a female worker with a family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan (O Mon ward, Can Tho city) prioritizes finding a stable job and being close to home.
With a desired salary of 6.5 million VND/month, Ms. Loan shared: I want to find a job near home to conveniently take care of my family, pick up and drop off my children and also to reduce the costs of renting a room and traveling. Although not a very high salary, stability and convenience are the top priorities I have at the moment.
Submitting documents to garment companies in Tra Noc Industrial Park (Can Tho City), Mr. Vo Nhat Duy (Thuan Hung Ward, Can Tho City) is looking for a job with a high salary of 7 million VND or more and more importantly, no experience required.
As a young, unskilled worker, if I am enthusiastically guided, I believe that I can learn quickly and integrate into work. A salary of 7 million VND/month or more will help me have a good start, enough to cover my living expenses and accumulate" - Mr. Duy expressed.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ho Thi My Linh (Phu Tan commune, An Giang province) prioritized finding a job near her home after a period of leaving her hometown to earn a living in Binh Duong. With her previous experience, Ms. Linh found a job at a garment company in the province. Ms. Linh also hopes that the salary and allowance will be from 7 million VND/month or more to meet the living standard.
Ms. Linh explained: "chick prices are climbing, causing living expenses to increase. A salary of VND 7 million or more is necessary for me to be able to meet the basic living standards of my family. Although I am a regular worker, I hope the market will have many better options for income".
More than 75,000 positions need to be recruited
Recently, the online job fair in the Mekong Delta, Southeast and neighboring provinces and cities in the second quarter of 2025 organized by the Can Tho City Employment Service Center attracted 468 businesses to participate with more than 75,000 vacant positions to be recruited.
The fair helps workers access many different job positions in different industries, suitable for many qualifications and experiences. This is one of the activities of the functional sector in the effort to achieve and exceed the annual employment target in the city.
Previously, in the May 2025 recruitment round, there were 61 recruitment businesses with 1,779 vacant positions. Enterprises mainly operate in the fields of food processing - food, frozen seafood processing for export, garment production, production and business of importing and exporting animal feed, poultry, seafood, fertilizers, etc. In which, recruitment positions have high demand such as general labor, workers, sales staff, teachers.
Based on the recruitment and job search needs of workers, the Center has provided job counseling to 5,443 people with 61 businesses. The groups of workers with a high number of job counselors include 2,170 people without technical qualifications; 1,056 people from universities or higher; 1,040 people from intermediate schools; 670 people from colleges and 507 people from pre-level schools. There are 2,017 people who have been connected to jobs by the Center. Female workers account for the highest rate of 50.52%, equivalent to 1,019 people.
In addition to major recruitment rounds, the center maintains support for businesses in recruiting workers, combining in-person with online through the Center's Zalo and Facebook channels, via email to workers.
