The Ke project to overcome landslides on the banks of the Bac Khe river, the old Trang Dinh district, Lang Son province was approved by the People's Committee of this province under Decision No. 1244/QD-UBND dated June 6, 2025.

This project belongs to Group C, the total approved investment is 139 billion VND, the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is assigned as the project investor.

According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board recently announced the bidding for Package No. 10: EC Joint Stock Package - Survey, design and implementation after basic design and construction.

The above mixed-use package is widely bid online, the package price is 110 billion VND from the central budget reserve in 2024. The closing/opening date is May 29, 2025.

In the coming time, after the contractor selection results are approved by the investor, the contractor will deploy the construction of a embankment to overcome landslides on both sides of the Bac Khe river in the former Trang Dinh district.

According to the project documents that the reporter exploited at the National Bidding Network System, the Bidding Package will build a embankment with a total length of about 6,616.03m, with embankments on the left and right banks of the river.

For the left embankment, the length is about 3,078.2m, including 3 sections: Section 1 is about 872.86m long from TD6+29.7m pile to P10+38.7m pile; Section 2 is about 473.19m long from TC11+49.3m pile to 25+20.35m pile; Section 3 is about 1,732.15m long from P13+19.3m pile to P26.

The left embankment is a sloped embankment combined with a vertical wall, including the embankment foot, embankment roof, embankment top and auxiliary works on the embankment.

With the right embankment, the length is about 3,537.83m, from TD6+51m stake to P26 stake. Like the opposite embankment, this is a sloped embankment combined with a vertical wall, including the embankment foot, embankment roof, embankment top and auxiliary works on the embankment.

The project is invested with the goal of overcoming riverbank erosion, stabilizing flow, protecting residents, land and essential infrastructure, and stabilizing people's lives in the area.

Also on the Bac Khe River in the old Trang Dinh District, on October 7, the Bac Khe 1 Hydropower Dam (Tan Tien Commune) broke after prolonged heavy rain due to the impact of Storm No. 11 ( Matmo), causing a large water flow.

The incident broke a concrete piece about 4-5 meters long and caused the central control room to collapse. After that, the local government urgently evacuated all people in the downstream area to ensure safety and proceed to overcome the initial damage estimated at about 50 billion VND.
