At the end of 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee started the project to expand National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section with a length of about 21.7 km.
The starting point of the project is at km14 in Ba La district, Ha Dong district (now Yen Nghia ward); the ending point is km38, Xuan Mai town, Chuong My district (now Xuan Mai commune).
The project has 5 construction packages, including items: Synchronous construction of road surface foundation, water supply and drainage, technical cable trenches, lighting, green trees, 8 road bridges, 1 newly built box culvert.
The project has a total investment of over 9,590 billion VND, implemented in the period 2022-2027.
In Xuan Mai commune, as of the end of February 2026, the commune has issued decisions to recover land and approved compensation and support plans for 488 agricultural land plots with an area of 1.16 ha; issued 1 decision to recover 3.64 ha of land managed by the Commune People's Committee. The payment of compensation, support and site handover has been completed.
Along with that, compensation and support for site clearance (GPMB) have been implemented for 1 religious land project (Mau Temple) in Tien Truong village with an area of 1,672.3m2; currently building a temple at a new location to carry out demolition and relocation to serve the project.
Compensation, support and relocation of 6 graves of 5 households have been completed. The total area of public land and agricultural land handed over reached 21.67 ha, corresponding to a length of 3 km, reaching 46% of the volume.
However, the remaining workload is still very large. There are still about 1,600 land plots with a total area of 16.91 ha that must be cleared; 988 plots have been investigated, measured, and inventoried; 296 compensation, support, and resettlement plans have been approved. There are still 612 land plots that have not completed investigation and inventory.
At the same time, there are 6 other graves to be relocated. With a large remaining volume while the time is not much, the task set requires drastic and synchronous involvement of the entire political system.
Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee is continuing to closely coordinate with the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to accelerate the progress of investigation and inventory; collect dossiers, verify the origin of land and assets attached to land; prepare, appraise, and approve compensation, support, and resettlement plans according to regulations. Strive to complete site clearance work in the second quarter of 2026.
Regarding the handed over area, the leader of Xuan Mai commune requested the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to quickly deploy construction at eligible sections; and at the same time organize dismantling and clearing of the ground for synchronous deployment, avoiding wasting time.
