Lo River
The Lo River is a large river flowing from China to the provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc of Vietnam. The total length of the Lo River passing through the above provinces is about 277 km, the total area of the Lo River basin in our country is about 22,600 km2.
In Vinh Phuc province, the Lo River flows through the districts of Song Lo, Lap Thach and a short section of Vinh Tuong district (in Viet Xuan commune). The other side of the river, flowing through Phu Tho province, includes the districts of Doan Hung, Phu Ninh and Viet Tri city.

The Lo River joins the Red River at the border between Tho Son Ward (old Ben got Ward), Bach Hac Ward of Viet Tri City and Tan Hong Commune, Ba Vi District (Hanoi City), about 12 km from where the Da River joins the Red River.
Currently, there are 4 bridges across the Lo River connecting the two provinces of Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc, including: Viet Tri Bridge, Hac Tri Bridge, Vinh Phu Bridge and Song Lo Bridge ( the bridge on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway).

In recent months, the water level of the Lo River through Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho has dropped, the water has exposed many underground rock banks under the river, and waterway transportation has encountered many difficulties, and has recorded ships stranded due to impacting the Lo River underground rock.
Da River
The Da River section running through Vietnam is more than 527 km long. The starting point is the Vietnam - China border in Muong Te district (Lai Chau province). The Da River flows through the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh and Phu Tho.

The Da River has a large water flow, providing 31% of the water for the Red River and is a large source of hydropower for the electricity industry. Currently, there are 3 large hydropower plants on the Da River: Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh.
In Hoa Binh province, the Da River is the largest river, with a total length of 151 km, a river basin of about 15,000 km2, passing through the districts of Mai Chau, Da Bac, Tan Lac and Hoa Binh city. For Phu Tho province, the Da River flows through 3 districts: Thanh Son, Thanh Thuy and Tam Nong.

In recent months, the flow of water in the Da River flows to the lake of Hoa Binh lake low, the water level has decreased deeply, the lake bed reveals each long streak of land running along the mountainside, which can be observed with the naked eye. With the downstream of Hoa Binh hydroelectricity, due to the low amount of water regulating the downstream, the Da River from Hoa Binh city to the conjugation section with the Red River in Phu Tho province is at a shallow level.
Da Hop River with the Red River at Hong Da junction, Tam Nong district (opposite bank is Phong Van commune, Ba Vi district). As mentioned above, the Da River is saved with the Red River from the Lo Hop River with the Red River about 12 km.
Thus, both the Lo River (water flowing through Vinh Phuc) and the Da River (water flowing through Hoa Binh) converge with the Red River in Phu Tho.
