Some key bidding packages achieved output of over 90%
According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), component project 3 of Long Thanh airport to date, total output has reached about 77.85%. In which, package 4.6 construction of runways and aprons reached 90.82%; package 4.7 construction of aircraft aprons reached 89.97%; package 4.8 construction of inland port traffic and technical infrastructure reached 64.82%; package 4.9 aircraft fuel supply reached 87.72%; package 5.10 passenger terminal reached 67.08%; package 6.12 construction of 2 connecting traffic routes basically completed...

To ensure the progress of putting Long Thanh airport into operation by the end of 2026, ACV requires contractors to mobilize more personnel, aiming for the target of nearly 9,000 direct workers and an indirect team to accelerate internal work and complete dossiers.
ACV has also officially received airport operation registration from domestic airlines including: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Vietravel Airlines.
Arranging space to serve airlines
Accordingly, ACV has worked with Vietravel Airlines on commercial operation plans at Long Thanh airport from the end of 2026 and increased operating frequency from the summer flight schedule in 2027; Vietjet Air commits to maintaining operation of at least 2 international routes; Vietnam Airlines proposes to transfer some international routes from Tan Son Nhat to Long Thanh, with a proportion of about 12% of the airline's international flights.

ACV also exchanged views on the layout plan to serve Vietnam Airlines and VIAGS, including check-in counter areas, kiosks, luggage self-delivery areas, departure gates, luggage conveyor belts, Premium Check-in Lounge, CIP Lounge international and CIP domestic.
For foreign airlines, Long Thanh airport has also worked with representatives of 34 international airlines such as Korean Air, All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines to discuss and prepare operating plans according to the plan.
Preparations for the operation of Long Thanh airport are also being accelerated. To date, Long Thanh International Airport said it has received a total of 257 personnel to prepare for operation.
Representatives of Long Thanh International Airport said that personnel are being arranged to work in reality at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and at the Long Thanh International Airport Project to accumulate experience; and at the same time, learn from the new technical systems equipped in the near future when Long Thanh airport goes into operation, planned for the end of 2026.
ACV has signed a consulting contract with the Incheon Airport consortium to support the development of an operation and exploitation plan for Long Thanh airport. Up to now, the contents on operation, core processes, trade policies, business plans and financial strategies have been completed.
