22 dead, more than 1,000 houses damaged in Khanh Hoa after historic flood

Khanh Hoa - According to the latest report, floods have killed 22 people and injured 20 people; 105 houses were completely collapsed, 909 houses were damaged to many degrees.

On the afternoon of November 25, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee issued a quick report on the damage caused by the historic flood in the area, as of 9:00 a.m. the same day.

This is considered one of the most severe natural disasters in the locality in recent years.

Particularly serious widespread damage

According to the report, floods have killed 22 people and injured 20 others. The whole province had 105 houses completely collapsed, 909 houses were damaged at many levels.

The irrigation - dyke sector recorded an estimated loss of 1,730 billion VND.

Many works were seriously affected, including Nuoc Ngot Lake with broken breakage walls, eroded downstream roofs; the North bank dike of Dinh - Phan Rang was eroded 30m, the control gate system was completely damaged, the anti-official wall in many sections was destroyed.

Traffic is the most severely damaged sector, with a total estimated cost of 1,970 billion VND. A series of roads were eroded and damaged, with a total affected length of about 381km.

The damage to educational facilities is about 80 billion VND, health facilities are about 170 billion VND, and the industrial and commercial sector is estimated at 191.5 billion VND.

Deploying emergency support for people in affected areas

Faced with the great damage, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued a set of criteria to support overcoming the consequences of floods.

Accordingly, households with completely collapsed or lost houses will be supported with 60 million VND/house to rebuild their residence.

Households with flooded, severely damaged or partially collapsed houses are supported with 30 million VND/house for repairs.

People in households whose houses are flooded and their lives are affected will be supported with 1 million VND/person/household.

Students from primary school and above in these households are supported with 500,000 VND/student to buy books and school supplies, helping to stabilize their studies after natural disasters.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods caused by storms have caused many deaths, missing people, and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage.
