On November 7, the Organizing Committee of the Mekong Innovation Competition 2024 officially announced the list of projects, models, solutions, and initiatives that made it to the Semi-finals.
After the selection process, the Jury selected 30 projects from authors and author groups to compete in the Semi-final round taking place at 7:30 a.m. on November 11, 2024 online via Zoom software. The Top 10 initiatives will then be selected for the Final round.
It is known that the Mekong Initiative 2024 competition attracted more than 130 projects from provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, etc. to participate. Among them, there are participations from institutes and schools.
According to the Organizing Committee and the Jury, many projects entering the Semi-finals were highly appreciated for their green, circular and sustainable nature.
The contest has a total prize of 230 million VND, including: 01 First prize, 01 Second prize, 01 Third prize and 5 Consolation prizes. In which, the First prize is 100 million VND, the Second prize is 50 million VND, the Third prize is 30 million VND, the Consolation prize is 10 million VND each. The winning initiatives also received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.
The competition is within the framework of the 2nd Mekong Startup Forum - MSF (Mekong Delta Startup Forum) in 2024 with the theme "Green Economy - New driving force for development".
Within the framework of the Forum, there are 03 components, including 1: Raising awareness of green economy; 2: "Mekong Initiative 2024" program and 3: Mekong Delta Startup Forum. Component 3 will include the following contents: Final round of the "Mekong Initiative 2024" competition; Exhibition of space to display startup products and models, products, emission reduction technologies, green technology products in specific fields of the Mekong Delta; Connection session between large enterprises, investment funds, domestic and foreign experts with startups, small and medium enterprises; MSF 2024 plenary session "Green economy - New driving force for development".
